International Science and Technology Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology Visits the University for Research and Guidance on International Cooperation and Innovation and the Construction of the China-Hungary Belt and Road Joint Lab

On August 27, a delegation led by Deng Wei, Deputy Director of the International Science and Technology Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Xin Bingqing, Director of the Second Special Projects Division, visited the university for research and guidance on international science and technology cooperation and innovation, and convened a symposium. Vice President Fan Daming received the guests andattended the meeting.

Vice President Fan Daming delivered a welcome address, expressing his appreciation and gratitude to the leaders of the International Science and Technology Cooperation Center for their guidance. He noted that the university would take this research visit as an opportunity to further enhance its international cooperation performance, especially by building on the existingChina-Hungary Belt and Road Joint Laboratory of Food Science (in Preparation), to thoroughly explore ways to align with national requirements for Belt and RoadJointLaboratories at a high standard, thereby effectively serving national strategic needs.

During the symposium, the principal investigators of the intergovernmental international science and technology innovation cooperation projects undertaken by the university reported on their project progress, existing challenges, and related recommendations. Professor Chen Kewei of the College of Food Science presented the status of his ongoing project. The leaders from the International Science and Technology Cooperation Center provided specific guidance on projectconclusionand key considerations during implementation. Professor Zhang Binjia, Dean of the College of Food Science, stated that the College adheres to an integrated development and construction approach with theChina-Hungary Belt and Road Joint Laboratory of Food Science (in Preparation), and will continue to actively contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative, promote innovation in international science and technology cooperation, and deepen international education.

After the symposium, Deng Wei and Xin Bingqing, accompanied by university representatives, visited theChina-Hungary Belt and Road International Cooperation Pavilion for Food Scienceand the Joint Laboratory. They obtained detailed information on the progress of the laboratory's construction and offered valuable suggestions for its further development and for the consolidation of research outcomes.
