Professor Du Muying of the College Invited to Visit Hungary and Denmark

From June 10 to 17, 2026, Professor Du Muying, Deputy Director of theChina-Hungary Belt and Road Joint Laboratory of Food Science (in Preparation)at the College, traveled to Hungary and Denmark for international exchange activities.

During her visit to Hungary, Professor Du Muying visited the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE), where she held in-depth discussions with ProfessorZsolt Zalán's team on the progress of collaborative projects and signed a new round of cooperation agreements. She also presented Southwest University's talent recruitment and international student admission policies to local scholars, and reached preliminaryintentionswith two outstanding Hungarian doctoral graduates for their further studies and work in China. In addition, she was invited to attend a special symposium at theEmbassy of the People's Republic of China in Hungary, where she conducted a detailed assessment of the operational status of the Hungarian-side joint laboratory and finalized the subsequent implementation plan for the laboratory's joint construction.

During her visit to Denmark, Professor Du Muying attended the China-Denmark Academic Exchange Conference and held intensive consultations with Nobel Laureate in Chemistry Professor Morten and relevant officials from the University of Copenhagen, reaching preliminary cooperation intentions. She conducted an on-site visit to the Center for Healthy Aging at the University of Copenhagen and engaged in extensive discussions with the team of Professor Lene Juel Rasmussen, who holds dual academies in Denmark and Norway, and delivered an academic presentation on traditional fermented microorganisms. She also met with experts from the Department of Molecular Medicine and the Novo Nordisk Metabolism Research Center at the University of Copenhagen, and agreed to carry out population-based clinical intervention studies on probiotics and bioactive small molecules, aiming to translate basic research into precision nutrition and healthy aging applications.

Professor Du Muying delivered an academic presentation at the Center for Healthy Aging, Department of Medicine, University of Copenhagen in Denmark, and engaged in in-depth exchanges with the team leader, Academician Lene JuelRasmussen.

This international visit effectively consolidated the College's long-term cooperative ties with top universities and research institutions in Hungary and Denmark, further enriched the College's international collaboration network, and provided solid support for the continued introduction of overseas high-caliber talents, the deepening of transnational joint research, and the accelerated translation of research outcomes into practical applications.
