Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences Delegation Visits Southwest University to Advance Exchange and Cooperation

On the afternoon of April 17, a five-person delegation from the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE), headed by Professor Zoltán Kovács, Vice Rector of the University, visited the College of Food Science for a research symposium and discussion. The delegation comprised representatives from the University's Institute of Food Science and Technology as well as stakeholders from the Hungarian food industry. The symposium was joined by ProfessorFanDaming, Vice President of the university, and directors from theInstitute of Science and Technology Development, theOffice of International Cooperation and Exchanges, the College of Food Science, and other relevant administrative units.

During the meeting, the Chinese and Hungarian delegations engaged in thorough exchanges of views and reached broad consensus on a range of topics, including the joint development of theChina-Hungary Belt and Road Joint Laboratory of Food Science (in Preparation), academic exchange and collaboration, Sino-Hungarian joint educational programs, and the joint formulation of ISO international standards. Both sides unanimously affirmed their commitment to establishing a regularized communication mechanism and jointly advancing the construction of the Joint Laboratory. Driven by the dual engines of "science and technology" and "education," both parties aspire to elevate Sino-Hungarian international cooperation in food science and technology to a higher level and steer it toward more practical and substantive outcomes.

Following the meeting, ProfessorFanDaming and Professor Zoltán Kovács exchanged gifts as a token of mutual appreciation. Both sides reviewed the history of their collaboration, fully acknowledged the notable achievements already made, and expressed great expectations for further deepening their cooperation in the next phase.
